Since I’m not updating a lot these day I’ll update you from what I’m receiving from different game makers.

Bubblis updated for social networks and with a 50% discount

The 29^nd of November an important update arrives for the words and puzzles game Bubblis. With it also comes a 50% discount in the game price, for a limited time only. The primary new feature of this update is integration with the social networks Facebook and Twitter.

With this interaction, users will be able to publish points and successes achieved in the game and can check their position against the rankings globally, in their country, and the scores of their friends. In addition to the comparison, publication and sharing of results, this update also includes an awards system, using  discount vouchers or gift cheques, according to achievements in Bubblis. For example, a 5 Euro voucher for a Starbucks store that the user can redeem directly at the points of sale. Awards will depend upon service availability in each country. 

With this update, Bubblis will also come to the online store Amazon, expanding the game’s availability to Amazon´s Kindle Fire tablets. Kindle Fire tablets represent almost 55% of the North American market and it is hoped that their  European presence grows as a result of the opening of the Amazon Appstore in Europe.  In the Appstore it is also possible to acquire the game for other Android devices, with the security of buying in a Market with highly exhaustive quality controls.

Sometime a game can help you recovery from a heart attack, it can help you find love or get you fired.

But it can also help you catch burglars.

Recently a young kid was victims of a Home invasion whiles playing is favorite game on yoogame.

Police responded to a 911 call about a possible burglary in progress in the city of Morgantown, Indiana USA at late night of March 12 2012. A kid, whose identity is kept confidential because of is age, was playing a browser game operated by YooGames.com.

The young kid told with is online buddy that at 11h40 pm someone was trying to break in is house. Some player immediately took action to keep the child calm, asking him what he liked and what he favorite animal. Meanwhile a former cyber crimes agents who happen to be a forum moderator asked the ip address of the child and with it was able to have the address of the child home. He contacted the police at 11h43 and with nearby surveillance cameras the police was able to record the intruders.

The police apprehended 1 of the 3 suspect with the information they were able to get.They are still looking for the 2 other suspects, but are confident that they will find them.

 
Yoogames is a popular browser game site famous for their quick-responding and thoughtful
customer service. Though in this case a Yoogames admin provided the IP address of the player
and probably saved his life, note that all user data are highly confidential and classified at Yoogames, and this was an exceptional case that they gave the address.

Duel System
The Hero Duel System is a new PVP feature, it can be launched in any Arena or World battles, and displays as a duel between two heroes. The closer the attributes are the better chance of a dual happening.
In the Duel System, heroes can release the newly added ability – Skills. The effects are similar to abilities, can be sorted as Active, Passive, Attack, Defensive and Buff etc.
Corresponding to the Duel System, there are new Gears and Abilities which will be pushed out in this new version, players will gain more experience from this new game feature!

Terrain System
There are 7 terrains added to Battlefield which can give players a brand new experience. Each terrain offers buffs to different types of troops. It can affect attack, defense, critical strike damage and rates, and dodge.
The 7 terrains are Grassland, Solid Ground, Desert, Tundra, Forest, Mud, Hills.

School System
The School is a place where players can teach and study new abilities autonomously. Players’ heroes can learn all abilities besides the exclusive hero abilities, and will be able to learn the new types of abilities including: Increasing exclusive troops’ attack and defense, Increasing strike, Increasing dodge, Decreasing abilities damage, additional terrain bonuses and Reducing food consumption etc.
Players with 10,000 or more development and a little silver can create their own Schools in the Academy on the City interface, players can also apply to join others’ School, but every player can only join in one school at the same time.
Players who created the school can select any of his/her heroes enter the school to become the teacher. When school reaches to level 3 or above, players who are students can also select any of their heroes enter the school to study.
Teachers can get Insight by teaching, and students can get Insight by studying. When their Insight reaches a certain level, players can select a specialty for their heroes to learn.
Literary Talent: Can increase the success rate of insight specialty. Can increase the daily limit of Advice. Can increase the success rate in Challenge.
Military Genius: Can choose more skills if a hero have more Military Genius. Can increase the daily limit of Challenge. Can increase the success rate in Challenge.
A school’s level depends on teaching and studying activities in the school.
Players are able to drop out of a school. Players can be removed from the school if 3 or more players choose to banish them, and their heroes will be also removed

New 1000 ad

1000 ad server finish this Saturday (March,10 2012) Be ready if you want to try a new server. I was to late in the last server so I stopped playing to restart once the server reopen…

I’m currently trying a new game called 1000ad. I a turn based game were instead of playing real-time like tribal war or TKO you accumulate turn and can play them when you have time.

However there a twist, the number of turn you can have is caped so once your at 320 your cannot accumulate turn again.

I’ve played some game like that in the past like King of chaos, but this game seem to be more strategic than King of chaos though.

I’m currently playing my first round of the game, the last 28 days then the server restart.

I’m still trying to figure stuff out but they seem to already have a good community around the game, A youtube channel with tutorial and a beginner guide.

It been awhile since I haven’t wrote a blog post and they’re actually good reason for that. It actually because I recently joined a game company has a programmer lasts august, note that it’s not koram by the way but I still like what they do and love TKO and CoK.

I still waiting for legal approval to see if I can still write here, however I might be a little biased now that in a game company but since they do mostly console it should be safe.  I just want to say I’m still surprised that there still a lot of regular visitor that come each days even If I haven’t updated for a while.

There the other thing that I kind of regret the name of the blog, I should have try something less generic or more three kingdom or mmo rts specific, I’ll try to find something cooler and easy to remember,

What I’ve been playing a lot of new game recently, there a lot of web and social game that I want to reviews.

A good load of them are on Facebook but other are an unique niche (web hockey) that I wanted to build a similar game like them but now I can’t because of legal engagement so that great for you, you get to read my analysis.

Here the list of web game I played recently (note I play console and pc game too but that not for here)

Facebook

CivWorld: I like the idea they did but it feel too much like a farmville with boring minigame.

(actually it mabrute.fr but the english version is mybrute) you send you brute to fight other brute, you can recruit other poeple and gain xp from them. the fighting, specially against your friend but got bored pretty quickly after that

I was a sim fan and my wife too when I was younger so we joined and played together. My wife actually got bored first.

Cafe World (zynga) & Restaurant City (playfish) : I had a idea for a restaurant game, basically wanted to check what the big name did for that and well I’ve haven’t work on it since then.

Aviator and Airport city: I wanted to check if there something like Koei areobiz airport city somewhat have some similar feature that aerobiz used to have but it’s not has compelling.

Garden of time: Puzzle game not much to say.

Not a web game but a online one, I like the concept of collecting the monster like Magic the gathering.

Played via a applet or you can download the client, play various puzzle to build your pirate hideout, boat, get a familiar.

Web hockey/simulator : there a lot of them and will probably go on a next post for the description but here the main one: (click on the image for the game and my referral, even if most referral are useless since I only get a bonus if you spend money on the game.)  

Old hockey simulator from back in the days were all game were made with php, they didn’t changed it at all. I used to like it but once your in the top league if you don’t pay money your doom. (weird that remind me of some other games…)

Cyberpuck is a hockey web simulator where you get to create the player instead of owning a team. It a interesting approach, you can buy stuff and own a team instead. I shamelessly plugged my referral link there, I won’t make any money though just some useless cyberpoints.

Power play manager the last one I tried is probably the best so far, you get to recruit not only the player but the staff too and you own the arena.

I Keep posting don’t worry, but it should be not more that 1-2 time week.

There some nice update for the war minister and defense minister, some for alliance and ranking but the one I’m really happy it’s for the report, my support report are always lost in the sea of transport report so the filter will fix my problem 🙂

Koram should take some feature from lord of ultima to make TKO more fun, there made some really neat stuff that make the game less tedious.

Koram have gone crazy, there now a new item (the Earth Seal) the turn a 15 farm field city in a 18 farm field city.

You’ve read it, 18 farm field ! That mean all the field of your city will be for food.

So what a 18 farm field city look like ?

Let’s do some math here :

level 20 farm = 4500/hr

Let compare the 15f vs a 18f (only 3 farmland more):

Base food output
4500 x 15farms = 67500/hr (excluding bonus)
4500 x 18farms = 81000/hr (excluding bonus)

Mill Bonus
67500 x 25%mill bonus = 16875 (15f)
81000 x 25%mill bonus = 20250 (18f)

16875 + 67500 = 84375/hr (15flag city total output excluding oasis and politic)
20250 + 81000 = 101250/hr (18flag city total output excluding oasis and politic)

Oasis
with the 3 50% oasis = 150%
67500 x 150% = 101250 (15f)
81000 x 150% = 121500(18f)

101250 + 84375 =  185625 (w/o politic) (15f)
121500 + 101250 = 222750 food/hr (almost 40k more than the 15 flag city field)

Wow 222750 of standard food output…

If we keep the idea of a old post from the art of war, with some gold you can have some thing real nice

With emperor’s order (treasure bowl or token of rain), Cao cao, metal alchemy scroll and the level 10 league resource bonus you can boost you food output even more.
– emperor order provide 25% food bonus.
– Cao cao could provide another 30% food bonus because of his max 150 politic (base = 100 + 30 pol bonus generalissimo + 20 pol history of han) 
– Cao cao have a skill that increase food output by 25%
– league level 10 provide 10% bonus food output
– Metal Alchemy scroll give 5%

So  25% + 30% + 25% + 10% + 5% = 95% food bonus
222750 /hr x 95% = 211612.5/hr
222750 + 211612.5= 434362/hr

Note : that I don’t know if heroes can stack skill book with mid skill, if they can Cao Cao could have a farm skill to increase the food output even more.

Almost 450k of food per hours, with that and let say you go in the red by -150k you have a army of 600k soldier

Koram announced that they have baked a new game based on the Greek mythology named Mythopolis.

I started playing the game today and my first impression is :
Is Mythopolis a new game or just Three Kingdom online with new clothes ?

The same game really ?

Just when starting the game you get to chose your zodiac sign (equal region in TKO), your city (which is the equivalent of the kingdom)

If we break down each city with there TKO kingdom we got

Athen = Wei Sparta = Shu Troy = Wu

The units are the same it just that the name has changed.

Oasis are the same except the unit defending are mystical creature instead of yellow turban

Building are the same there name have changed and the tech tree is a little different.

The concept of placing your building is the same too. This list can goes on and on, it’s kind of normal since the game seem to be built on the same game engine. Let check what’s different for fun

New and Improved – Top things that have changed compared to TKO

1- New interface

Mythopolis arrive with a brand new interface, easier to manage, faster access to yours heroes and less cluttered than the one from TKO.

2- New quest section

There a brand new quest section and its much easier to understand than the one from tko,
Quest are grouped in category and each category you can complete a group of quest from that category, they are even bonus when you complete a certain group of quest that let you can give a gift to your facebook friend. More information on that on the Mythopolis forum : Quest System

3-New heroes management

Instead of having to go the the unintuitive left menu for hero quest, you directly access all quest and feature related to the hero directly via your hero menu.
So the training labyrinth (tower of trial), the zodiac (faction map), stadium (arena) , meet your hero (previously in the governor house in tko) are all the same place so you won`t forget anything about heroes, how many times did I forget to meet my heroes for the extra xp.

4- They made a little cleanup

The messengers are gone, I’m not sure if we should be happy about it but it give the casual player more chance against hardcore player.
There no more daily quest, quiz, book of heroes and faction quest. Which is good for those who can’t log everyday, The one I really happy about is that they removed the book of heroes, it was really annoying having to go to your governor house get the name and paste it in the quest section every hours.

5- Facebook

They made a huge facebook integration, quests that ask you to invite your friend for bonus, gift for your friend when you complete a group of quest and ask your friend for help to accelerate your construction.
While the concept is great, something I actually felt that I was harassing my friend, even facebook blocked the games because I was posting too much stuff with it.

Other thing they left out

There seem to be no King of the hill, no emperor road and no escort guardian.
They are probably replaced by something else that we have yet to discover.

MYTHOPOLIS might be pretty much a Three Kingdoms online clone with a greek setting, but the new and improved interface, the cleanup might make the game worth it and give a new experience.
